May 28, 2012

I'm back for a bit this Memorial Day night.  Had some great storms and excitement this weekend, lots of tubing and disc golfing also.  Hopefully I'll be able to get some more posts this week, stay tuned.

The Cubs and Padres Scoring Plays
For two teams that have trouble scoring runs, the Cubs and Padres really unleashed a slugfest today.  There were 8 home runs hit in the game, 4 by each team.  This game doesn't really mean anything in the standings (as both teams are in the cellar) but it does show that anything can happen at any time.  No team can be underestimated and that even the worst can bust out and beat the best.  This also shows the rough state of pitching for each team as well.  The Cubs Matt Garza was also shelled on Sunday as well.  He now has a 7.20 ERA on the road this year, even as the Cubs staff ace.
