August 27, 2012

The Broncos game was actually pretty entertaining for a pre season game.  Though Peyton Manning only played one quarter (and threw 2 TDs) the game remained close the whole way.  It was however, a blazing 96 degrees at game time, and that probably only decreased a few degrees as the game went on. And if you've ever been to Sports Authority Field, you know that the bleacher construction only adds to the heat, being made of mostly dark colored metal.  In the end the 49ers were able to snag the win 28-24.  Eric Decker really impressed, with 4 catches for 38 yards and 2 TDs.  If this connection with Peyton builds throughout the season, Decker has a real breakout opportunity.  Other than that, not too much to talk about, the QBs on both sides had some good moments.  Brock Osweiler looked really good and Adam Weber even made an appearance, though he wasn't able to lead the game winning drive.

Tonight we head to Coors Field to catch the Rockies take on the newly revamped Dodgers.  It has potential to be a slugfest, with Josh Beckett going for the Dodgers against Jeff Francis for the Rockies.  I'm a little disappointed that Troy Tulowitzki isn't back yet, as he's my favorite player.  Hopefully the Rockies can stay with the powerhouse Dodgers lineup.  My prediction: Dodgers 6, Rockies 4.
