Tim Lincecum's line vs the Mets |
It has truly been a start to forget for Tim Lincecum so far, but this could be the turning point in his season, even if it doesn't really look that good. Speculation has always swirled that his career could be shortened because of his insane delivery, but I don't think that time is now. Lincecum has gone through stretches similar to this at other point through his career, albeit maybe not to this extreme. It was only the Mets, but this could be a springboard into another elite season from the ace. His control is a little worrying, as he's averaging 2.3 walks per start, a number that must come down if he is to return to Cy Young form. An encouraging sign is that he has a strikeout rate of 11.6 / 9 IP, a great number, and one that indicates that he's only a bit away from the star that he is, just be patient.
