Stat Line of the Day

Cole Hamels' line vs the Diamondbacks
Yet another gem from Cole Hamels against the D'Backs tonight.  108 pitches through 8 innings shows good efficiency and he was hitting his strikes at a high percentage.  While Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee get plenty of attention as the front 2 of the Big 3, Cole Hamels has become arguably as valuable as either of them.  His growth has been marked since his major league debut and when he hits free agency next year, barring an unexpected contract signing still this season.  He is a legitimate ace, and if he weren't buried 3 deep on the Phillies he would get a lot more press.  I also have a special affinity for him as he's been on my keeper fantasy team for 2 years now.  If I had posted this later, I may have instead chose to comment on Matt Kemp hitting his 10th HR, already!!
